Hydro electric system
One of the many ways The Center serves the planet is to provide her visitors the opportunity to experience living off the grid. The property generates electricity through a hydro system. The energy is then stored in a battery bank for the facility's use. Potable water is collected in a large catchment and is purified twice; UV filter outside and reverse osmosis inside. Solar panels heat the water for showers. A compost converts organic materials to fertilizer. Trash is recycled at a nearby waste transfer station. Eco friendly products are used for laundry and cleaning. Visitors learn to be mindful of their energy consumption. We are hopefull this mindfuness will translate into thoughtful use of energy and resources once visitors return home.
