High ceilings create a sense of openness and breath.

Traditional shoji-style sliding doors line one side of the space, opening fully to ocean views and open sky.

When opened, the boundary between inside and outside softens—the Temple becoming both shelter and threshold.

The design invites stillness without austerity, and beauty without excess.

The Sweatlodge

The Sweatlodge

We handbuilt the temazcal at Kahuna Falls in 2024, with many hands, prayers, and intentions.

A temazcal, or sweat lodge, is a traditional space used for purification.

Our structure was inspired by traditional temazcal and sweat lodge forms, including the shape of the space and the central role of fire and water.

Traditional components were honored in the build, including grandmother stones and lava rock.

A wood-burning stove element was incorporated to adapt the experience in a modern and safe way.

While temazcal-inspired, the space remains rooted in tradition.

The caretaker of the temazcal comes from Assiniboine Sioux lineage, whose ancestral sweat lodge practices were held in what is known as an inipi.

This is not a commercial experience.

The temazcal is held as a container for purification.

It may be experienced by prior arrangement as a gift for your group, with donations welcomed as an exchange of energy.

Guests are invited to experience the process of entering the womb and emerging purified and renewed.
